In fiscal year ended March 31, 2009, affected by the global demand contraction and the sharp appreciation of the yen due to the worldwide financial crisis, Fujifilm's business faced great difficulties.
In fiscal year ending March 31, 2010, for constant growth even in a severe environment, Fujifilm will create a robust corporate constitution promptly. In order to do so, we will mainly address structural reforms through streamlining and strengthening of the functions throughout the company. We will also reconstruct our growth strategies targeted for the five priority business fields where the market is expected to grow, such as medical systems/life sciences, graphic arts, documents, optical devices, and highly functional materials.
