FUJIFILM Advanced Research Laboratories
FUJIFILM Advanced Research Laboratories opened in April 2006 to establish our Second Foundation by integrating technologies that have been cultivated by the Fujifilm Group across a broad range of fields.
A new Fujifilm Group will emerge from laboratories designed and organized under the open laboratory concept to break down the boundaries between technical fields and organizations.
Establishing technologies to differentiate Fujifilm
FUJIFILM Advanced Research Laboratories takes the lead in Fujifilm Group's cross-cutting advanced research and the deep cultivation and development of core technologies that form the foundation for new businesses and products.
The new research center brings together engineers specializing in fields from chemistry and physics to optics, electronics and software. Their areas of concentration represent a broad spectrum, including organic synthesis; thin multi-layer coating; precision micromachining; lens design; lasers; and image processing, which are all cultivated through the development and manufacture of silver halide films and digital minilabs.
Designed and structured under the concept of “Intellectual Fusion, Innovation and Value Creation,” the laboratories facilitate a dynamic fusion of extensive knowledge, technologies and techniques in different areas. We will also create new businesses by acquiring unique, differentiating technologies through the strengthening of Group cooperation with Fuji Xerox, FUJINON and Toyama Chemical. We will also vigorously promote alliances with other companies, M&A and business-academia collaborations.
