FUJIFILM Holdings Corporation (President and COO: Mr. Shigehiro Nakajima) is proud to announce that the company has been awarded the highest-ranking “Gold Class” medal in the RobecoSAM Sustainability Award 2016. RobecoSAM is one of the world's most prominent socially responsible investment (SRI)(*1) ratings companies, and to receive an award from the company is considered high praise indeed. Fujifilm has also been chosen as an “Industry Leader” in the category of “Computers & Peripherals and Office Electronics”.
Each year, RobecoSAM groups 3,400 major corporations around the world into 59 industry categories, and assesses their sustainability in terms of “economy,” “environment” and “society.” Those that demonstrate particularly high performance are ranked into “Gold Class,” “Silver Class” and “Bronze Class.” In 2016, Gold Class certification was awarded to 77 companies (including 7 Japanese companies), Silver Class certification to 74 companies (including 9 Japanese companies) and Bronze Class certification to 97 companies (including 7 Japanese companies).
In its mid-term CSR plan called “Sustainable Value Plan 2016 (SVP2016)(*2)”, the Fujifilm Group has declared its commitment to finding solutions to social issues as a way of creating new business opportunities. It is currently making company-wide efforts to contribute to the development of sustainable society through achieving corporate growth and resolving social issues.
